- A woman who was injured at a Corpus Christi Hooks game last month is accusing Flatiron Dragados LLC of negligence. Ada Hernandez, who was hit by shrapnel from a crane that caught fire at Whataburger Field, is prepared to sue Flatiron Dragados LLC if there isn’t a resolution through the developer’s insurance. Hernandez spent three days in the ICU with a serious injury to her spleen and is still be treating in Houston. (KIIITV.com)
- Mary Grett Transition Center adaptive education teacher Brooke Reyna was recognized by Corpus Christi Hooks with a giant check for $1500! Reyna was picked as one of 10 winners in the Corpus Christi Hooks All-Star Educators Program, which honors exceptional teachers in the Coastal Bend. When she learned of the award, Brooke already had a few ideas for how the funds could benefit her students, like adding a sensory room beside her classroom, as well as purchasing new supplies. - Corpus Christi Fire Department is welcoming a new Chief. Brandon Wade was officially sworn in on Tuesday at Corpus Christi City Hall. Previously, Wade served as the assistant fire chief for the Austin Fire Department. He was asked if the department would see any immediate change, and he responded that his first order of business is to listen. “The fire department here in Corpus Christi has served the community for many many years, and they have done it at the highest levels. For me, I look to continue that effort” he said. (KIIITV.com)
