City Of Fort Worth: Cowtown Brush Up Improves Property Values, Creates Neighborhood Pride

Dozens of homes will be painted and repaired by hundreds of volunteers during Cowtown Brush Up, a project of Trinity Habitat for Humanity.

Teams of volunteers from local corporations, nonprofit organizations, government agencies and faith-based organizations are encouraged to participate by painting and repairing homes on April 9.

Teams of 20 are encouraged to tackle an entire house, or smaller teams will be partnered with others. Larger groups can paint multiple houses.

Volunteers must be at least 12 years old. Ladders, water, lunch and snacks are the team’s responsibility, but all other supplies will be provided.

Keeping homes in good repair does more than support neighborhood property values — well-maintained homes foster community pride and contribute to the city’s overall economic development. Many of the homes that receive facelifts are in Fort Worth’s central city neighborhoods and are owned by families who need a helping hand, such as the elderly or disabled.
