- The Trust for Public Land has received almost $6 million in donations and commitments for the Five Mile Creek Greenbelt project. The funds will be used to create a network of parks in southern Dallas. The park network will be connected through miles of walking trails. The project will hopefully bring the community together while improving health, equity, and the environment. (The Dallas Morning News)
- Dallas' permitting issues may take up to three years to fix, according to the new head of the Development Services Department. The timeframe was presented to the Dallas City Council on Wednesday. The timeframe is for software updates, hiring, and staff training. It is still taking weeks for developers to receive approval from the city for projects. (D Magazine)
- Multiple law enforcement agencies were involved in a high-speed chase on Thursday afternoon. The chase went from Rockwall County to Dallas along I-35. The suspect switched vehicles at one point. Authorities were able to arrest two suspects and recover a baby from a car seat. There is no information on how the baby connects to the two suspects. (FOX 4 News Dallas-Fort Worth)
