  1. The Dallas Symphony Orchestra has been gifted cellos and bows. The donation was made by former associate principal cellist, Yuri Anshelevich. He played with the orchestra between 1977 and 2015. The gift is valued at $1.7 million. The gift will enrich the Dallas Symphony Orchestra's cello section. (Subscription: The Dallas Morning News)
  2. This year's State Fair of Texas will be featuring the "Mavs Vault". The exhibit will be celebrating the Dallas Mavericks' history with never-before-seen artifacts, a short historical film, and interactive kiosks.   3. The Dallas City Council has approved a $4.75 billion budget. The newly-approved budget will lower the property tax rate while raising trash and water service fees.
