Here are the top three stories today in Dallas:
- An overturned concrete truck delayed traffic on Tuesday afternoon. The vehicle blocked lanes on the westbound I-30 in Dallas at Hampton Road. The incident occurred before 3:00 p.m. The truck was upright by 4:00 p.m. Traffic was stop and go during the incident. (FOX 4 News Dallas-Fort Worth)
- The Dallas County Commissioners Court approved a budget item to allocate $50,000 for reviewing election security on Tuesday. The review will be conducted by California's Tetra Tech before the November election. The review will reportedly assess, identify, and implement key security controls to protect voters while preventing security vulnerabilities. (D Magazine)
- The Dallas Police Department offered active shooter response training to the community on Tuesday. The program taught participants how to create emergency plans, how to react quickly to save lives, and how to recognize life-threatening bleeding. The Methodist Dallas Medical Center was also on site assisting the department. The program was part of the Good Neighbors Initiative. (Community Impact Newspaper)
