Here are the top three stories in Dallas today:
- Dallas County has mailed this year's property tax statements. Residents can pay the statements through the county's website or by mailing payment through the provided envelope. Statements will become delinquent if not paid before Jan. 31. (Focusdailynews)
- A speeding driver was killed during a rollover crash on Sunday night. The incident began when a Dodge Charger fled from the Dallas Police Department around 11:30 p.m. The vehicle clipped an SUV and lost control on Westmoreland Road near Illinois Avenue in West Oak Cliff. The crash also injured three individuals in a pickup truck. No one was injured in the SUV. (FOX 4 News Dallas-Fort Worth)
- Dallas' Police Chief Eddie Garcia has been elected as the Major Cities Chiefs Association's president. Garcia will now be leading an organization that gathers many of the country's largest cities' top law enforcement officials together to discuss ideas, strategies, and research. In his statement to the Dallas Police Department, Garcia pledged to bring awareness to important law enforcement and community issues. (Subscription: The Dallas Morning News)
