Here are the top three stories today in Dallas:

  1. KFI Studios, a popular Dallas recording studio, was raided by the DEA and the Dallas Police Department on Thursday morning. The raid was part of a large-scale narcotics investigation, according to the department. Multiple arrests were made during the raid and multiple cars were hauled away. (WFAA.com)
  2. Dallas' new State Psychiatric Hospital will include a 100-bed inpatient unit. The unit will be led by Children's Health. The facility already has 200 adult beds planned. The new hospital will likely open in 2025 and the pediatric unit is set to open in 2026. The new hospital will help close the gap in North Texas mental health inpatient capacity. (D Magazine)
  3. Dallas residents are being warned about scammers posing as Dallas Water Utilities' employees. The scammers call customers and threaten to turn off water utilities unless a payment is made over the phone or through a text message link. Dallas Water Utilities reminds customers that it sends disconnection notices through the mail and not over the phone. It also does not take payments through a live person over the phone.
