Here are the top three stories today in Dallas:
- Authorities have identified remains found in Collin County as those of a missing Dallas woman. The Dallas Police Homicide Unit was notified that the remains belonged to Mercedes Clement. The Collin County Medical Examiner's Officer used her dental records to confirm the match. She went missing from the city on Oct. 11, 2020. (WFAA.com)
- Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson's re-election campaign has received its first major public endorsements. The Dallas Police Association and Dallas Fire Fighters Association have endorsed Mayor Johnson for the 2023 Dallas mayoral race. According to the two organizations, Mayor Johnson has shown support and leadership to the city's public safety initiatives. (The Dallas Morning News)
- The City of Dallas is pushing against Oncor's request to raise electric utility rates. The Dallas City Council will be voting on the proposal next week. Oncor is requesting an 11 percent increase. The proposal would add an additional $6 to the average Texan's monthly electric bill. (The Dallas Morning News)
