Here are the top three stories today in Dallas:
- The Dallas Police Department reports that a man was shot and killed on Wednesday morning during a shootout. The incident occurred in the 10300 block of Shiloh Road. The department received a call that a man was in the street with a gun. The department alleges that the man started shooting at responding officers. (CBS Dallas)
- The Dallas City Council will be reviewing a proposal that would distribute $1 million to hundreds of low-income families in 2023. The proposed program would give the money to about 325 families in historically underserved areas. The goal is to reduce the poverty gap. (Subscription: The Dallas Morning News)
- Hurricane Ian will be influencing Dallas weather. The hurricane will be pushing a cold front into the Dallas area today. The cold front will drop temperatures into the mid-80s. The tropical storm will not be increasing rain chances for the Dallas area, currently. (NBCDFW)
