  1. The State Fair of Texas is officially underway! This year, there is a new weather alert system, a 2022 Celebrity Chef Kitchen, and the Mavs Vault. Regular fair admission prices depend on the day but typically range between $15 and $25. Click for a list of must-try fair foods. (AXIOS)
  2. The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas has published a report that states that Texas' economy is slowing. The state's lack of employment growth, increase in unemployment, and stagnant wages are all signs of the economy slowing down. The report was written by the Dallas Fed's vice president and senior economist Pia Orrenius. (Texas Tribune)
  3. The Dallas Regional Medical Center has donated 1,600 pounds of school supplies this year to local students. That is 750 pounds more than the center donated last year. The school supplies were donated through the center's fourth annual Stuff the Bus event. (Star Local Media)
