Deer Park residents are reminded that national regulators are still scrutinizing the incident, alongside other major chemical accidents nationwide, and sharing new safety and emergency-planning resources for local and state officials.

• Makennah Alexis Game Report: vs Waller (maxpreps.com) — Deer Park hoops fans may notice Cypress Lakes recently visited their home court, where standout guard Makennah Alexis logged seven steals as part of a long defensive streak. Her latest outing against Waller extended that run to 51 straight games with at least two steals, and she now leads a 12-game winning Cypress Lakes squad into a road matchup with Cypress Woods on Tuesday.
   

• Jeanette Bordelon (kogt.com) — Deer Park readers may recognize the family of 79-year-old Jeanette Bordelon, whose brother and sister-in-law live in Deer Park and are among her survivors. Jeanette, a devoted nurse and loving crafter from Orange County, passed away Tuesday in Vidor, leaving behind children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family across Southeast Texas.
