365 Things Austin: Your Daily Dose of Boredom Antidote
Popular blog 365 Things Austin connects locals and tourists with a different experience every day, all year long.

365 Things Austin is a rare example of a New Year’s resolution gone right. Kristy Owen, founder of the now wildly successful blog, resolved on Jan. 1, 2010 to do one new thing every day for a year, and then write about it. Simple enough, right?
Simplicity must be the secret sauce; some 2,200 consecutive daily posts later, 365 Things Austin is now Owen’s full-time job and has evolved into a go-to virtual hub for Austin natives and visitors alike.
If you ask Owen to explain the massive following 365 Things Austin now boasts, she is quick to credit the City of Austin itself.

The site is stronger than ever because there is power in providing a simple, effective service to Austin’s ever-changing (always growing) population, for free.
Owen reflects on a common refrain echoed among lifelong locals.“I get responses from people who’ve been here 35 years and hadn’t heard of half the things on the website, which is pretty cool.”
Patch agrees, Kristy. Way cool.
365 Things Austin is the cure for the common cultural rut and the solution to the mind-numbing mundane.
Perhaps most importantly, though, 365 Things Austin is the answer to that nagging question: what should I do today?
