Arrest Made In Aggravated Assault And Robbery Investigation In City Of Austin
Detectives from the Aggravated Assault and Robbery Unit were able to recover a suspected firearm.

At approximately 10:10 a.m., on October 30, 2021, 9-1-1 received multiple calls reporting a shooting had occurred at the H-E-B located at 12407 N MoPac Expressway Service Road NB. When officers arrived on scene, they located an HEB employee who had been shot twice. The H-E-B employee was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Officers learned the H-E-B employee attempted to help a customer who was a victim a robbery. While attempting to help the robbery victim, the HEB employee intervened and was shot by the suspect.
The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle but officers were able to locate the suspect’s vehicle. Officers took the suspect, James Davis into custody.
Detectives from the Aggravated Assault and Robbery Unit were able to recover a suspected firearm.
Davis was charged with Robbery by Assault, Aggravated Assault, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Davis is currently booked in Travis County Jail on $750,000 bond.
