Arrest Made In Fatal Brawl Among Hurricane Evacuees In Austin
Linton Alexander, 21, has been arrested following a Thursday brawl among evacuees in downtown Austin that left a woman dead.

AUSTIN, TX — Police have made an arrest related to the downtown Austin brawl among some five dozen Hurricane Laura evacuees last night that left a homeless woman dead, officials announced Friday.
Previously, police said about 60 evacuees from Beaumont and Port Arthur got into an altercation at East 6th and Brazos streets at 12:30 a.m. on Thursday during which several from the crowd pulled out firearms. After shots were fired a nearby homeless woman who was not involved in the melee was fatally hit.
On Friday, police said Linton Alexander, 21, was arrested in the aftermath of the violence. The dead woman was identified as 50-year-old Amy Lynn Warner. Initially transported to Dell Seton Medical Center for treatment, Warner was pronounced dead at 1:03 a.m. on Thursday, police said.
