AUSTIN, TX—Cinephiles will have a unique opportunity to explore the Golden Age of Hollywood as the Bass Concert Hall stage turns gallery with the Texas Performing Arts presentation, Behind the Scenes: The Art of the Hollywood Backdrop. Enjoy a up-close view of mid-century Hollywood's Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studio assets, including twelve never-before publicly displayed historic paintings revealing the lost art synonymous with Golden Age Hollywood.

Audiences may enjoy the presentation now through Sunday, April 18, as part of the Backdrop Recovery Project –an effort to preserve the legacy of Hollywood's motion picture scenic artists developed by the Art Director's Guild (ADG) Archives developed in 2012. ADG donated these historic drops to museums, motion picture archives, and academic institutions, including The University of Texas at Austin through the Texas Performing Arts scenic studio.
