Austin Community College District Schedules Myriad Events

Spring registration is in full swing at the college district, with deep discounts being offered on a variety of fast-track career options.

AUSTIN, TX — Much activity has been stilled or slowed in light of the coronavirus, but the Austin Community College District remains a hotbed of activity in the interest of furthering residents' educations. Registration is in full swing, with opportunities for discounts on fast-track careers.

Myriad events are scheduled at the college district from Nov. 23-29:

  • Austin Community College is closed for Thanksgiving. The college district will close in observance of Thanksgiving on Thursday through Sunday. The college will reopen 8 a.m. Monday (Nov. 30). Spring registration continues over the break.
  • Spring registration: Spring registration is open for all students. The college offers more than 100 programs from associate and bachelor’s degrees to university transfer and fast-track certificate options. The spring term begins Tuesday, Jan. 19.   • The clock is ticking for deep discounts on fast-track careers. Austin Community College offers a 50 percent tuition discount for a series of fast-track training programs in the highest-demand sectors in the region, including healthcare, IT, and skilled trades. The college partners with Workforce Solutions Capital and Rural Capital to connect students with jobs that are available after completion.   • Applications now accepted for ACC Honors Program: New and current students may apply now for the spring 2021 Honors program. The program provides preparation for university-level work. Classes include an emphasis on research, collaboration, interdisciplinary projects, and letters of recommendation from Honors professors.
