Austin Museum Hosts Virtual Groundbreaking
The Blanton Museum of Art announces new date of virtual program for the New Grounds Initiative, featuring Austin leaders and artists.

AUSTIN, TX—The community is invited to a virtual celebration of The Blanton Museum of Art at The University of Texas at Austin and their newly announced grounds redesign. The free evening virtual event will feature various speakers to commemorate the Blanton Museum's Virtual Preview and Groundbreaking for New Grounds Initiative. #BlantonNewGrounds
Scheduled on Tuesday, March 9 at 7 p.m. will feature Simone Wicha, Blanton Director, sharing the project vision and history, along with the Snøhetta architecture team taking part in a live discussion of the design process and plan details, followed by a live Q&A.
The community will also enjoy performances by Austin musician, Jackie Venson performing her hit "Keep On", and Austin's musical group, Shinyribs, with the world premier performance of the song, "It's Good to Be Human".
