Austin Virtual Team Hope Walk Set For November
Team Hope is the Huntington's Disease Society of America's largest national grassroots fundraising event.
AUSTIN, TX — The Huntington's Disease Society of America's South Central Region is hosting the Austin Virtual Team Hope Walk in November, officials announced Tuesday.
The Nov. 14 walk may be virtual, but it's a real walk, on participants' terms, officials said: Walkers will get to choose their own course, with the ability to walk in your driveway, local park, neighborhood, in the house, and even on a treadmill. The event is one of the Team Hope Walk events for The Great Texas Team Hope Walk weekend.
Team Hope is HDSA’s largest national grassroots fundraising event. Thousands of families, friends, co-workers, neighbors and communities walk together each year to support HDSA's fight to improve the lives of people affected by Huntington's Disease (HD) and their families. HD is a fatal genetic disease that affects the nerve cells in the brain. In Texas, the total HD population is more than 29,000.
