Beloved Austin Kite Fest Held As Citywide Celebration In 2021
The ABC Kite Fest, one of Austin's longest running traditions, invites residents to fly kites at any of their neighborhood parks in ATX.
AUSTIN, TX—The ABC Kite Fest, one of Austin's longest-running and beloved traditions, returns in 2021 as a citywide celebration and invites communities throughout the City to participate. The event, in partnership with the Austin Parks Foundation, encourages Austinites to spend time outside and fly their kites at their neighborhood park —and don't forget to wear your face masks and keep a safe social distance from those around you!
The ABC Kite Fest will be held Saturday, March 27 - Sunday, March 28. Back for its 92nd year, all are invited to join in on Smart Trips LIVE on March 26 at 1 p.m. We'll be chatting with @abckitefest Spokesperson, Bobby Jenkins & @austinparksfdn CEO, Colin Wallis about the history of the ABC Kite Fest & how you can celebrate in a park near you!
Families will also have the chance to host their own kit flying contest presented CapMetro. The Exchange Club Community Kite Contest welcome families to check out tips and suggestions on how to make their own kite or organize a kite flying contest.
