UT will have to beat Oklahoma without its favorite mascot.

The Texas Longhorns will have to go into its classic football weekend without its righthand mascot.

According to university officials, Bevo XIV, the beloved University of Texas mascot, is suffering from a life-threatening condition and will be unable to attend Saturday’s game against Oklahoma in Dallas.

“Bevo is a fighter, a symbol of strength and who fans across the world care deeply about,” Brennes said in a statement released by school officials. “We are carefully monitoring Bevo’s condition at this time and will update the public as we find out more about his condition.”
