AUSTIN, TX — Divers on Friday recovered a body at Lake Travis believed to be that of a missing swimmer crews had looked for since early this month, officials said.

Travis County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Kristen Dark confirmed the discovery of the body where Latodrian "Todd" Dillon, 44, of Bogalusa, Lousiana, was last seen Oct. 3. Witnesses reported seeing Dillon in distress in the Sandy Creek Center Line area of the lake before going under without resurfacing, Dark said. The area of the lake where Dillon went missing is between 70-90 feet deep, Dark added.

Emergency crews had searched for Dillon every day since Dillon disappeared during daylight hours, Dark noted. Aiding in the search were such tools as a Starfish surface search sonar, side scan sonar, down scan sonar and underwater cameras. Such tactics were augmented by aerial searches conducted by a police helicopter, Dark added. Travis County Sheriff's Office patrol deputies, Lower Colorado River Authority crews and Jonestown Police Department officers operated sonar, conducted grid searches and shoreline searches, Dark added. Moreover, Texas Search and Rescue canines were utilized in the search efforts.
