City Of Austin Thanksgiving Closures, Service Schedule Hours

AUSTIN, TX — City of Austin offices will close for Thanksgiving Day while municipal services will be modified to accommodate workers' holiday plans with their families.

Trash and Recycling Schedules

All trash, recycling and compost (or yard trimmings) collections will "slide" forward one day on Thanksgiving, officials advised via an advisory. Residents will be affected if their regular collection day is Thursday or Friday. Residents are urged to check their personalized curbside services calendar and set up reminders for all their collections on the city website or download the Austin Recycles application: austintexas.gov/myschedule. The Recycle and Reuse Drop-Off Center will be closed Thursday, but remains open by appointment only Friday and Saturday.

Austin Public Health COVID-19 Test Site Schedule and Dashboard

All Austin Public Health COVID-19 Testing Sites will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. On Friday, the only COVID-19 test site open will be the Ana Lark Center test site at 1400 Tillery St. from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. On Saturday, the COVID-19 test site schedule will be as follows:

• Southeast Library: 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
• Little Walnut Creek: 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
• Givens Park: 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
• Montopolis: 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.
• Ana Lark Center: 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
• Pflugerville: 7 a.m. – 1 p.m. (no appointments)

The COVID-19 surveillance dashboard will not be updated on Thursday, but will be updated Friday. To schedule a COVID-19 test through Austin Public Health, visit the COVID-19 Information portal of the City of Austin website.

Parks and Recreation Facilities Schedules

Most Parks and Recreation facilities will remain closed due to COVID-19; however, there are a few exceptions (e.g. golf courses, tennis centers). Thanksgiving hours vary based on facility, so please call ahead or visit austintexas.gov/parks to see modified hours. Information on facility/amenity closures can be found at the PARD Facilities Closures portal at the City of Austin website.

GolfATX courses will open Thursday Nov. 26, with final reservations & carts issued at 12 p.m. Driving Ranges will close at 1:30 p.m. and pro shops and concessions will close at 4:30 p.m. Pro shop and concessions will close at 4:30 p.m. City Tennis Centers will close on Thanksgiving Day and reopen on Friday, Nov. 27 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. City of Austin pools will be closed on Thanksgiving. Austin Public Library Schedule
Austin Public Library, Recycled Reads Bookstore, and the Austin History Center branches will close at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 25 and remain closed Thursday, Nov. 26, and Friday, November 27. Library resources available remotely can be accessed at the Austin Public Library website.

Austin Animal Center Schedule
The Austin Animal Center will close at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, remain closed Thanksgiving Day, and Friday, Nov. 29. The center will be open during its regular hours Saturday and Sunday.
