Drive-By Shooting Suspects Sought By Austin Police

Law enforcement officials seek help from the public in identifying three people accused of aggravated assault after a South Austin shooting.

AUSTIN, TX — Police are seeking help from the public in identifying multiple suspects involved in a drive-by shooting in South Austin on Wednesday.

The incident occurred outside a convenience store at 809 Vargas Rd. at around 9 p.m., according to a police advisory. According to a police account, the suspects pulled into the store before the driver got into a disturbance with a person at the scene. The suspects left before returning and firing multiple shots at the subject, hitting the occupied building in the process.

Police described the first suspect as a Hispanic man in his early 20s of thin build seen wearing a blue Polo t-shirt, blue jeans and white shoes. The suspect has curly hair and light mustache The second suspect is described as a Hispanic woman in her early 20s who was the passenger of the vehicle. She was last seen wearing a yellow tank top and blue jeans. She has long dark hair, police said. The third suspect is a Hispanic man in his early 20s of heavyset build. He wore a blue Nike shirt emblazoned with the words “GO YARD,” police said.

Police released surveillance camera images of the suspects and the car involved in the hopes someone might recognize them and alert police as to their whereabouts.
