Early Voting Period Ends Friday, Oct. 30, In Travis County

Hundreds of thousands have already cast their ballots in the Austin area. If you haven't voted yet, find your polling place below.

AUSTIN, TX — Hundreds of thousands of registered voters have already cast ballots in Travis County during the early voting period that ends this week. Those who haven't voted yet have until Friday to do so.

All told, 10,057 people voted on Sunday alone, according to the office of the Travis County Clerk. On Saturday, 15,382 people voted early in person bringing the cumulative total to 415,915 with mail ballots counted in the total, the clerk's office said.

Friday was the biggest day over the weekend after 26,711 people voted in person as reported by the clerk's office. The turnout brought the total by that day to 344,883, the clerk's office added.

But it hasn't been all smooth sailing. Travis County Clerk Dana DeBeauvoir is asking some 13,600 voters to fill out a new, corrected ballot after election officials acknowledged making two errors on the original ballot, as KVUE reported. DeBeauvoir said one error issued wrong instructions to those voting in Pflugerville ISD while the second mistake centered on voters in the Barton Springs Edwards Aquifer Conservation District, as reported by the news station.

KVUE reported a letter was sent to affected voters that read: "If you have already submitted a ballot, it will not be counted after the Ballot Board receives your corrected ballot. If you have not yet submitted a ballot, please destroy it and then vote and mail your corrected ballot.”

Early voting ends this Friday (Oct. 30) with polls open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Visit the website for the Travis County Clerk to look up both early voting and election day voting sites.
