East Austin Aggravated Robbery Suspect Sought By Police

The incident occurred Wednesday night at a Valero store on 4311 Springdale Rd., where the suspect held the clerk at gunpoint.

AUSTIN, TX — Police are seeking help from the public in identifying a suspect involved in an East Austin aggravated robbery at a convenience store this week, officials said Friday.

The incident occurred on Wednesday just before 9:45 p.m. at a Valero store on 4311 Springdale Rd., police wrote in an advisory. Police said the suspect entered the store before holding the clerk at gunpoint while demanding money. The suspect then fled in a newer model, gray Ford Fusion, with cash from the registers, police said.

The suspect is described as a light-skinned Hispanic man of approximately six feet in height and of thin build. He was last seen wearing an all-gray hoodie, flat brimmed baseball cap, black denim vest, black pants, blue bandanna covering the face and black Jordans with white soles. Police say the suspect may be driving a newer model, dark gray, Ford Fusion Hybrid.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about this case to call the robbery tip line at (512) 974-5092, Crime Stoppers at (512) 472-TIPS, submit a tip on the Crime Stoppers website or use the Crime Stoppers app. Those submitting information have the option of remaining anonymous, and may be eligible for a reward up to $1,000. Tips also can be submitted anonymously through APD’s mobile app, Austin PD, which can be downloaded for free on iPhone and Android.
