Former Labor Secretary Robert Reich To Speak at UT

The former U.S. secretary of labor will give a speech on inequality and the 2016 election on Sept. 8.

Former U.S. Secretary of Labor Robert Reich will speak at the University of Texas on Sept. 8 as part of the Carpenter Lecture series.

His speech, titled “The Future of Inequality: The 2016 Election and Beyond,” will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Lady Bird Johnson Auditorium in the LBJ Library, located at 2313 Red River St.

The event is free and open to the public.

Reich is currently the Chancellor’s Professor of Public Policy at the University of California at Berkeley. He is the author of 14 books, including his latest release, “Saving Capitalism: For the Many, Not the Few.”

Reich, 69, served as secretary of labor under President Bill Clinton from 1993 to 1997. He also served in the Ford and Carter administrations.
