Former WilCo Sheriff's Deputy Indicted For Assault, Oppression
The incident involves former deputy Christopher Pisa, 25, who resigned in 2019 after being accused of throwing Black woman to the ground.
WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TX — A grand jury on Thursday indicted a former Williamson County sheriff's deputy on assault and oppression charges after a woman was thrown to the ground during a routine traffic stop, according to a report.
Former deputy Christopher Pisa, 25, resigned last year after being confronted about the April 2019 incident, the Austin American-Statesman reported. A 30-year-old Black woman was forcibly thrown to the ground — one of at least five use-of-force cases under investigation by the Texas Rangers and Williamson County prosecutors.
