Friday Is The Last Day To Vote In Texas During Early Voting

Polls close at 7 p.m. in the last day of a record-breaking early voting period; absentee ballots should not be mailed but dropped off.

AUSTIN, TX — Friday is the last day of early voting, election officials remind residents. Also, those submitting absentee ballots at this late date should not mail them as they may not be tabulated in time before the deadline, and should drop them off personally instead.

Texas voters have cast more than 9 million votes during the early voting period that began Oct. 13. The level exceeds the 8,969,226 votes cast in the Texas during the 2016 election, according to the office of the Texas Secretary of State.

The presidential race pitting incumbent Donald Trump against Democratic rival Joe Biden has garnered high interest this year. But there are a number of key races particularly impactful to state voters, including local races, House seat contests and a U.S. Senate seat currently held by longtime incumbent John Cornyn against war veteran MJ Hegar.
