'Funderdome' to Offer Advanced Tickets for Fun Fun Fun Fest

Organizers are learning from last year's mistakes to make this year's festival easier for attendees.

Fun Fun Fun organizers are learning from last year’s mistake and giving fans a chance to pick up tickets three weeks before the festival.

Graham Williams, the FFF Festival founder, told Austin360 that the first day of last year’s festival was “the worst day of his life.” After the fest’s ticketing system broke down on Friday, Nov. 7, 2014, festival-goers waited for hours to pick up passes at will call in a line that stretched from the fest’s gate on Auditorium Shores to City Hall, which is over three miles.

Organizers have responded to numerous complaints by spending the past 11 months creating multiple backup plans to handle any possible ticketing problems.

The festival created “Funderdome”, a pop up shop on 908 E. Fifth St. near Wright Brother’s Brew & Brew, who will provide drinks for the space. Funderdome will serve as a ticket pick up shop and provide FFF Festival-style programming each night. Events on the schedule include a twerk work out, improv shows, and a Dungeons & Dragons tournament. The Funderdome will open on Oct. 19 and will be open nightly from 6 to 10 p.m. until the end of the month. Beginning Nov. 1, the week of the festival, Funderdome will open daily from noon to 10 p.m.

FFF Festival is Nov. 6-8. All FFF passes can be purchased at Funderdome.
