Houston-Based Clothing Store Pavement To Open 2nd Austin Location

AUSTIN, TX — Houston-based clothing store Pavement is opening its second Austin location off Guadalupe Street, just north of the University of Texas at Austin, officials announced Tuesday.

The popular clothing chain previously opened its first local store on South Lamar this summer. The new, 10,000-square-foot store at 2932 Guadalupe St. will be located in the former Centennial Liquors space that closed down a few months ago after decades in business. The store is scheduled to open in December.

The August opening of the South Lamar location proved to be a welcome addition during a quarantined summer, company officials said in an advisory. Managing partners Avery Robinson and Trent Sellers said they are excited to bring the energy of the first Pavement store to its new, central Austin space.

“We’re so grateful for the enthusiastic response to our South Lamar location and plan to continue that momentum into our second store,” Robinson said in a prepared statement. “The newest Pavement will feature the same thoughtful, eclectic mix of men’s and women’s fashions, offering buy/sell/trade options."

Pavement encourages customers looking to sell to bring in current, gently-worn clothing, shoes, and accessories. They also accept unique pieces and vintage clothing - all should be freshly laundered.

The imminent opening of Pavement brings to three the number of similar stores in proximity to each other. A stone's throw from the new store site is Flamingo Shop, 2915 Guadalupe St., and Buffalo Exchange, 2904 Guadalupe St., both also offering gently used clothing and vintage wear.
