Interstate 35 Lanes Closure List For Aug. 15-21, 2020

AUSTIN, TX — The Texas Department of Transportation on Friday released its weekly list of Interstate 35 lane closures, yielding a helpful driving guide for motorists. Those checking the list before their travel know in advance which spots to avoid that may result in traffic congestion, ensuring a smooth ride unencumbered by deceleration on aproach to highway work sites.

The latest list of I-35 lane closures covers the period between Aug. 15-21.

I-35 AT NORTHWEST BOULEVARD

• Northbound I-35 left lane closed nightly at Lakeway Drive
  • Sunday, Aug. 16 through Wednesday, Aug. 19 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane at Lakeway Drive
  • Sunday, Aug. 16 through Wednesday, Aug. 19 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.

I-35 FROM RM 1431 TO FM 3406 (NORTHBOUND)

• Northbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane from Jeffrey Way to the RM 1431 exit
  • Through early 2021

I-35 FROM RUNDBERG LANE TO US 290 EAST

• Southbound US 183 Cameron Road exit closed
  • Through September
• Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed nightly from Rundberg Lane to Barwood Park
  • Sunday, Aug. 16 through Thursday, Aug. 20 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed nightly from Blackson Avenue to Huntland Drive
  • Sunday, Aug. 16 through Thursday, Aug. 20 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Southbound I-35 frontage road closed nightly from Wonsley Drive to US 183. The US 183 exit (#240) will also be closed.
  • Sunday, Aug. 16 through Thursday, Aug. 20 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Southbound US 183 frontage road closed nightly from I-35 to Providence Avenue
  • Sunday, Aug. 16 through Thursday, Aug. 20 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Eastbound and westbound St. Johns Avenue closed nightly at the southbound I-35 frontage road

• Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed daily from Camino La Costa to Blackson Avenue
  • Monday, Aug. 17 through Friday, Aug. 21 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
• Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed daily from Blackson Avenue to Huntland Drive

• Northbound I-35 right lane closed from Slaughter Lane to William Cannon Drive

• Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed from the Slaughter Lane entrance ramp to Stassney Lane
  • Saturday, Aug. 15 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
• Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed from Stassney Lane to the William Cannon Drive exit (#228)

• Posey Road bridge closed at I-35

• Northbound I-35 Posey Road exit (#199) and Centerpoint Road exit (#200) are closed

• Southbound I-35 entrance ramp closed permanently at Centerpoint Road
  • Until further notice

I-35 MAINTENANCE

• Northbound I-35 reduced to one lane from SH 195 to Ronald Reagan Boulevard
  • Friday, Aug. 14 from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m.
• Northbound I-35 reduced to one lane from Lakeway Drive to FM 972
  • Tuesday, Aug. 18 through Wednesday, Aug. 19 from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m.

OTHER I-35 CLOSURES

• Southbound I-35 closed nightly from Watson Lane to Conrads Lane. The southbound I-35 Watson Lane entrance ramp will also be closed.
  • Saturday, Aug. 15 through Sunday, Aug. 16 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
