South Austin Fire At Recycling Facility Was Accidental
The Austin Fire Department said the fire was confined to recycled materials and no injuries were reported.

AUSTIN, TX — A large fire at a recycling facility that authorities say started accidentally in South Austin took firefighters an hour to extinguish.
The fire broke out at 710 Industrial Boulevard but was confined to recycled materials. According to the Austin Fire Department, no injuries were reported and there was no monetary loss associated with the fire.
The fire department said the blaze broke out when pressurized aerosol cans ignited during the recycling process.

CMC Recycling is located at 710 Industrial Boulevard, according to the company's website. CMC Recycling has two locations in Austin. The second facility is located at 1704 Howard Lane.
According to CMC's website, the company recycles metals.

Thick black plumes of smoke could be seen coming from the site of the fire, according to photos posted to social media.
An air quality alert was already in place for Austin on Thursday.
