Mail-In Balloting Deadline Fast Approaching In Travis County
The last day to request a ballot to vote by mail is Friday, and preparation is urged given that there is just one drop-off location.
AUSTIN, TX — The deadline to vote by mail is fast approaching with a single location to drop off ballots in North Austin by Nov. 3.
Gov. Greg Abbott on Oct. 1 issued a proclamation limiting mail-in ballot locations to just one per county. In Travis County, that site is at 5501 Airport Blvd. Hours for this location were expanded once early voting began on Oct 13, according to the Travis County Clerk's Office.
According to the Travis County Clerk's Office website: Through Nov. 1, hours at the sole drop-off location will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday; noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday. On Nov. 2, the site will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Nov. 3 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Voters may only hand deliver their own carrier envelope, must present an acceptable form of ID, will be asked to sign a signature roster and will then deposit their mail-in ballot into a ballot box, the county clerk said.
The deadline to request a ballot by mail is Oct. 23. Visit the Travis County Clerk's Office for instructions on securing a ballot.
