'Maintain No Gain' Helps Maintain WilCo Residents' Waistlines

With the average person gaining up to 5 pounds over the holidays, the 6-week wellness program focuses on keeping weight gain to 2 pounds.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TX — Not to burst your pre-holiday cheer, but the average person gains between three and five pounds during the months of November and December. To help mitigate such unwanted gains, a community wellness program helps keep increases to no more than two pounds.

"Maintain No Gain," a six-week community and wellness program, will serve as guide to control holiday weight gain by encouraging a healthy lifestyle aimed at mitigating the risk of cardiovascular disease and stroke.

Participants will receive weekly printable logs to keep track of their eating habits while helping to track progress throughout the holiday season. The program costs $15, and would-be participants can register online by Nov. 20.
