Man Dies 9 Days After 3-Car Wreck In Austin
The incident occurred just before 6 a.m. on Sept. 27 at the intersection of Springdale Road and U.S. Highway 290, according to police.
AUSTIN, TX — A man succumbed to injuries on Friday nine days after a three-vehicle wreck, according to the Austin Police Department.
The incident occurred just before 6 a.m. on Sept. 27 at the intersection of Springdale Road and U.S. Highway 290, police said in an advisory. According to a police investigation, a gray, 2020 Toyota Corolla was traveling eastbound on U.S. Highway 290 when the driver of a gray, 2006 Honda Accord rand the red light at Springdale. The Accord struck the Corolla, which then crashed into a silver, 2008 Nissan Quest.
The occupants in all three vehicles were rushed to Dell Seton Medical Center, including 53-year-old Jeffrey Bourgeois who died nine days later. Police did not indicate whether any charges would be filed as a result of the crash.

The incident marked Austin’s 66th fatal traffic crash of 2020, police said, resulting in 71 fatalities this year. At this time in 2019, police added, there were 63 traffic fatalities.
