Man Shot In Austin Road Rage Incident In Critical Condition
A 20-year-old man was hospitalized with a life-threatening gunshot wound after an altercation at the Montopolis Drive and Riverside Drive.
AUSTIN, TX — The Austin Police Department seeks help from the public in a road rage incident involving an aggravated assault that occurred the day before Thanksgiving.
The incident on Wednesday took place just after 9:10 p.m. at the intersection of Montopolis Drive and Riverside Drive, police said in a police advisory. Police said they received a call about a car crash where they found a man suffering from critical injuries.
Once at the hospital, police said, medical workers discovered the man had sustained a life-threatening gunshot would. The 20-year-old shooting victim remains in critical condition, police added.

Witnesses told police the shooting victim and occupants of a four-door white sedan had been involved in a road rage incident during which multiple shots were fired from the sedan into the man's vehicle as he traveled eastbound on Riverside Drive from Pleasant Valley Road.
Police had few details, and said they would not be conducting media interviews on the incident until Monday.

Austin-Travis County EMS also reported on the incident, writing on Twitter that the shooting resulted in a rollover accident requiring crews to extricate the victim from his vehicle.
