More Than 27K Travis County Voters Cast Ballots By Noon
The county clerk reported that the county was on pace to have 6,000 voters per hour casting ballots, but waiting times were still short.
AUSTIN, TX — After an early voting period that saw around 553,000 registered voters casting their ballots, officials on Tuesday said Travis County was on pace to have 6,000 people vote per hour — with some 27,000 people already voting by noon.
The staggering stats were issued by Travis County Clerk Dana DeBeauvoir as her office tracks voting levels. "As of 12:30 p.m., over 27,000 people have voted today," voting officials wrote on Twitter. Despite the brisk pace, officials added, the wait time map is still mostly green, "...and our poll workers are still waiting for voters."
Election officials defined what is meant by a "green" wait time map: "Is that an almost all green wait time map we're seeing? Does this mean there are little to no waits right now? Yes and yes, so go find your most convenient location and vote!"
