Popping Pop-Up Valentine's is a family-friendly Sunday Funday event featuring hands-on activities, scavenger hunt, self-paced tours, more.

AUSTIN, TX—This Valentine's Day, enjoy a family-friendly event designed for all ages featuring hands-on activities, scavenger hunts, self-paced tours, and space to picnic in the shade. Popping Pop-Up Valentine's at the Neill-Cochran House Museum invites you to a relaxed afternoon of learning and creating pop-up Valentine's cards.

Scheduled Sunday, Feb. 14 from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m., you'll learn about the history of the pop-up book, and its use to engage imagination long before the advent of the current technology we enjoy today. You'll design your own pop-ups, gain hands-on experience for the unique art form, and create something special for your Valentine!

There will be examples for the different ways of creating a pop-up image, as well as all materials and decorating supplies needed for your creation. Staff and volunteers will be on hand to help with the design and creation of your pop-up cards, and there will be pre-made pop-ups available for younger children to decorate on their own.
