Petition Created To Designate Hole in the Wall an Austin Landmark
Austinites are taking to Change.org to petition the city to make the 40-year-old bar a cultural landmark.

There have been reports that Hole in the Wall, a popular University of Texas campus bar since 1974, might be closing. Now, a petition has been created on Change. org to make the bar an Austin landmark.
More than 2,000 people have signed the petition so far.
Austin360 reported that rent negotiations are still ongoing between Hole in the Wall owner Will Tanner and his landlord cott Freid, city partner and head of the Austin office of the Weitzman Group and Cencor Realty Services.

The bar, located at 2538 Guadalupe St., has had a colorful mix of guests over the years, including Don Henley, Courtney Love, Dave Grohl, REM, and John Stamos (on drums).
