Police Arrest Man for Punching a Patrol Horse in Downtown Austin

The man was charged with a misdemeanor. The horse wasn't injured.

Austin Police have made an arrest after searching for a man who punched one of their patrol horses during a fight in downtown Austin last weekend.


Pierre Anthony Mendez, 23, was charged with interfering with a police service animal, according to police. Bond was set at $7,500 and AP reports that jail records indicate he is no longer in custody.
