Police ID Man Fatally Shot At East Austin Barbecue Gathering

A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest after Dontra Jamol Kinsey, 27, was shot.

AUSTIN, TX — Police on Monday identified the man who was fatally shot over the weekend in East Austin.

The incident occurred on Saturday just after 7:30 p.m. in the 5700 block of Manor Road, according to a police advisory. Police said they received a 911 call alerting them to a man with a gunshot wound in the parking lot. The shooting victim was later identified as Dontra Jamol Kinsey, 27, who was pronounced dead just before 8:20 p.m. Police learned there had been a barbecue gathering before the shooting occurred.

A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest, police said.
