Police Seek Hit-And-Run Driver In Fatal South Austin Crash
Lisa Vann, 57, was standing in the middle of a road before being struck by a dark four-door sedan, and police now seek the driver.
SOUTH AUSTIN, TX — Police are looking for the hit-and-run driver who fatally struck a woman standing in the middle of a road last month, officials said Monday.
The incident dates to Aug. 25 just before 3:30 a.m. along the 300 block of East Ben White Boulevard service road. According to a police investigation, Lisa Vann, 57, was standing in the middle of the roadway before she was struck by a dark four-door sedan.
The woman was transportated to South Austin Medical Center for treatment of her injuries, but police said they were later notified she succumbed to her injuries.

As detectives continue to investigate, they urge those with information to call them at (512) 974-6935. Tips also can be submitted by downloading the police department's mobile app, Austin PD, for free on iPhone and Android.
The incident marked the citys 59th fatal traffic crash of 2020, police said, resulting in 62 fatalities this year. At this time in 2019, police added, there were 54 traffic fatalities.
