Police Seek South Austin Gas Robbery Suspect

The suspect entered an Exxon gas station while armed with a black semi-automatic handgun before fleeing with cash.

SOUTH AUSTIN, TX — Police are seeking help from the public identifying a suspect wanted in connection with a gas station robbery in South Austin.

The incident dates to Dec. 7 at an Exxon gas station on 5401 Menchaca Rd. around 11:45 p.m., police wrote in an advisory. The suspect entered the business armed with a black semi-automatic handgun, police said, before demanding money. The suspect then led the scene, law enforcement officials added.

Police released surveillance camera images of the suspect, believed to be between 25-35 years old of thin build and standing between five feet, nine inches and six feet tall. The man was last seen wearing black Adidas shoes with white stripes and black-colored pants, sweatshirt and cap. The suspect has tattoos on his left hand and wore multiple gold rings on the same hand, according to police.

Police noted that a driver remained in the suspect vehicle during the robbery. Surveillance camera images showing the suspect and vehicle were released by police.
