Report: UT Fires Athletic Director Steve Patterson

After 22 months, UT Athetic Director Steve Patterson is reportedly out of a job.

University of Texas Athletic Director Steve Patterson has been fired, according to the Associated Press.

After 22 embattled months on the job, Patterson has not been popular in Austin, losing the respect of the coaches and irritating fans over higher ticket prices. At last week’s football game against Rice, UT football fans held signs that said, “Patterson Must Go.”

He has three years left on his five-year contract, for which he would earn a guaranteed $1.4 million per year, according to Sports Blog Nation.
