Shots Fired In East Austin Neighborhood
Police descended to Map Street after someone called to report a shooting just before 6 p.m.; helicopter secured to find locate suspect.
AUSTIN, TX — Police on Wednesday evening descended to a an East Austin neighborhood after a call about shots being fired, officials said.
The call alerting to shots being fired along the 1100 block of Map Street came in just before 6 p.m., police said via Twitter. A police helicopter was secured to help find the shooter, according to the tweet. It's unclear if there were any injuries.
Residents in the area are urged to be vigilant. Patch will update when more details are shared by police.
