Taste Some Texas Heat At Annual Hot Sauce Festival In Austin
The 31st Annual Austin Chronicle Hot Sauce Festival kicks off with an assortment of salsas, delicious food, great live music and much more.
AUSTIN, TX—The Austin Chronicle, The Central Texas Food Bank and Capital Metro are once again teaming up to bring you the 31st Annual Austin Chronicle Hot Sauce Festival for a unique opportunity to sample hundreds of Central Texas' hottest salsas, dine on local foods, enjoy a cold beverage and experience great live music!
Taste some of the hottest salsas around and take home some of your favorites at the event scheduled Sunday, Sept. 12 from 3 p.m. - 9 p.m. at The Far Out Lounge & Stage located at 8504 South Congress Ave., Austin, TX 78745. Experience live music performances from artists including:

Hot Sauce Festival Guidelines from Organizers:

Our intent is to require that all attendees show proof of either vaccination or a recent negative COVID test, however, recent TABC actions have put that policy in question and we will be following the below guidelines until further notice.
- Capacity will be limited to reduce crowding.
- All tastings, vendors, and live music performances will be outdoors.
- All guests will be required to practice mutual respect and social distancing.
- Additionally all vendors, Chronicle staff and bar staff will be wearing masks and practicing social distancing when possible as well.
- Hand sanitizer is available at the entrance to and throughout the festival space. Soap & hot water available in the bathrooms for frequent hand washing.
- Staff will also regularly wash hands for a minimum of 20 seconds with soap and warm water.
All guests are required to follow Stage 5 Guidelines:
Fully vaccinated individuals should:
- Wear a mask.
- If you are high-risk with underlying conditions, avoid large gatherings where masks are not required.
- Help us get the rest of the population vaccinated by talking with your loved ones.
Partially or unvaccinated individuals should:
- Get fully vaccinated.
- Stay home and avoid gatherings.
