Tesla Auto Plant Taking Shape In East Travis County
Design plans, drone flyover images yield an approximate vision of what the plant will look like after its completion slated by year's end.

AUSTIN, TX — The developing Tesla plant slated for completion by year's end is taking shape in the eastern part of the city, according to reports, with renderings showing interesting architecture for massive buildings at the site, not unlike a similar facility in Nevada.
In July, the electric car maker revealed plans to build a huge facility locally. Since then, work crews have thrown themselves into an ambitious construction schedule that includes the opening of the plant by the end of the year with “substantial completion” likely meaning production could start by May 2021 at the Tesla plant, according to the electrek website.
In another report, Joe Tegtmeyer shared design plans along with drone-viewed images from the 2,000-acre tract. Tegtmeyer uploaded a video on YouTube further illustrating the developing site.

Electrek noted the shape of the building reveals a similar design as Tesla’s original plan for Gigafactory Nevada which remains 70 percent uncompleted. Design plans show a pair of envisioned buildings separated by a long alley-like division. Moreover, a recent drone flyover above the site shows ground already leveled for the structures.
