Texas Reports 6,858 New Coronavirus Cases, 20 New Deaths
The cumulative total of respiratory illness in the Lone Star State grew to 1,027,889 on Monday, health officials reported.
AUSTIN, TX — Texas reported 6,858 new cases of the coronavirus on Monday, bringing the cumulative total to 1,027,889. In addition, 20 new deaths were reported to bring the historical fatality rate to 19,579.
The data are found on a statistical dashboard maintained by the Texas Department of State Health Services. The dashboard also shows 7,468 current hospitalizations, an increase of 194.
The dashboard lists the top 20 Texas counties recording the greatest number of cumulative coronavirus cases:

- Dallas County: 109,022.
- El Paso County: 74,973.
- Tarrant County: 72,809.
- Bexar County: 58,784.
- Hidalgo County: 37,413.
- Travis County: 34,612.
- Lubbock County: 25,810.
- Cameron County: 24,992.
- Collin County: 21,665.
- Fort Bend County: 18,761.
- Webb County: 17,275.
- Denton County: 16,886.
- Nueces County: 16,714.

- Harris County: 2,910.
- Hidalgo County: 1,770.
- Bexar County: 1,451.
- Dallas County: 1,383.
- Cameron County: 998.
- Tarrant County: 929.
- El Paso County: 807.
- Travis County: 460.
- Nueces County: 419.
- Webb County: 359.
- Fort Bend County: 322.
- Lubbock County: 272.
- Collin County: 218.
- Denton County: 195.
- Montgomery County: 194.
- Brazoria County: 190.
- Starr County: 187.
- Smith County: 175.
- Galveston County: 174.
- Jefferson County: 168.
- Maverick County: 168.
- McLennan County: 166.
