Town Hall in North Austin To Address New Courthouse Plans, Water Bills
Council Member Don Zimmerman is hosting the town hall on Saturday.

City Council Member Don Zimmerman will host a District 6 Town Hall from 1:30 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26, at Gateway Church, located at 7104 McNeil Drive.
Zimmerman will discuss his plan to build the new Travis County Civil Courthouse in East Austin instead of downtown.
“Putting the proposed courthouse downtown doesn’t make sense. Downtown is already very congested and expensive. East Austin would be much more affordable and would spur economic development in the ‘Eastern Crescent’ of the city,” Zimmerman said earlier this month.

“The councilman has pictures of various water meters in District 6 which clearly show that a given meter has not been ‘read’ in quite some time. Evidence of very dirty and damaged meter lenses render impossible for such meter to be ‘read’ thus leading to strong doubt as to the accuracy of the city’s claims,” his office said in a press release.
