Travis County Reports 318 New Coronavirus Cases, No New Deaths

Data show 219 county residents hospitalized, including 72 being treated at intensive care units and another 46 placed on ventilators.

AUSTIN, TX — Travis County reported 318 more cases of the coronavirus on Monday, bringing the cumulative total to 36,754. No new deaths were reported, keeping the historical fatality count at 476.

The data are input in a dashboard maintained by Austin Public Health. According to the dashboard, there are 2,617 active cases across the county. The data show there were 219 county residents hospitalized, including 72 being treated at intensive care units and another 46 placed on ventilators.

Travis County health officials last week upgraded the region's alert level to the penultimate Stage 4 level denoted by and orange color.

  • Higher-risk individuals (those over the age of 65 and those who have chronic medical conditions) should stay home, except for essential trips such as buying groceries or seeking medical care.
  • Lower-risk individuals should avoid social gatherings, any gatherings greater than 10 people, and non-essential travel.
  • Recommend businesses and restaurants voluntarily reduce capacity to 25 percent to 50 percent.
  • Recommend schools limit attendance at sporting events to players, coaches and parents.
